Jeffery Glenn Gray

Aug 1, 1957 — Aug 11, 2026

Cedar Hill

Jeffery Glenn Gray, 69, passed away on August 11, 2026, in Cedar Hill, Texas.

Jeffery was born on August 1, 1957, in Grand Prairie, Texas, to Ima Marie Ellis Gray and Edwin Nathaniel Gray. He grew up in Grand Prairie and lived and worked in the surrounding area for many years before spending the last decade of his life in Cedar Hill. He worked for many years as a technician and mechanic specializing in trailers and mobile service.

As a young man, Jeffery competed in horse racing events and earned an impressive collection of trophies and ribbons. His special horse was Mr. Ed, a remarkably intelligent one-eyed horse who excelled at pole racing.

Jeffery loved fishing, riding motorcycles, and Texas sports. He was a lifelong, diehard Dallas Cowboys fan and also cheered for the Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars. His love of sports extended beyond watching from the sidelines—he coached both of his daughters in softball when they were children.

Music was another important part of Jeffery’s life. He attended countless concerts throughout the years and especially loved classic rock and country music. Some of his favorite artists included The Rolling Stones, the Eagles, Bob Seger, and George Strait.

One especially meaningful family connection was that his sister, Sharon Gray-Loden, named her youngest son in Jeffery’s honor.

Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, Ima Marie Ellis Gray and Edwin Nathaniel Gray.

He is survived by his daughters, Jalah Shay Gray and Chandra Nicole Dell and her husband, Hunter Dell; his granddaughters, Rowan Grace Dell and River Grace Dell; and his siblings, Dean Armstrong, Roy Armstrong, Sharon Gray-Loden, and Mary Gray.

A graveside service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Callisburg Cemetery in Callisburg, Texas.
