Jerry Leroy Morgan

Jerry Leroy Morgan, 82, of Gainesville, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2026 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on December 20, 1943, in Thackerville, Oklahoma, to Vernie Lee and Eva Vernell (Suggs) Morgan.

Jerry married the love of his life, Janet Tubb, on October 23, 1964 in Gainesville, Texas.

Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Army, including service during Vietnam. Following his military service, he dedicated 35 years of his career to Weber Aircraft, where he worked as an inspector and was known for his diligence and skill.

A quiet and mild-mannered man, Jerry found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved hunting and fishing, and had a particular talent for building and repairing CB radios and computers. Jerry loved to cheer on the Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family, whom he loved deeply.

Jerry is survived by his sons, Jeffrey Morgan and wife Gina of Sanger, and Justin Morgan and wife Theresa of Gainesville. Jerry was a proud grandfather to grandsons Chase (Katlynn), Zach (Victoria), and Hayden; and granddaughters Shelby and Mollye, as well as a great-grandfather to Denvir, Theodore, and Della, whom brought him immense joy during his final days. He is also survived by a very special friend, Bess Allison, whose love, care, and companionship—especially during his later years—were a bright light in his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janet Morgan; his parents, Vernie and Eva Morgan; and his brothers, Ernest and Burney Ray.

Jerry will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville, Texas on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 6:00 PM - 7:30 PM. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Hollis Parsons officiating. Interment will be at New Resthaven Cemetery.
