Jessica Rivera

Isaura Jessica Rivera, age 43, passed away January 14, 2026 in Denton.

Jessica was born May 31, 1982 in Rocky Ford, CO. She was a joyful and creative spirit that enjoyed singing, drawing, and painting. Jessica was always willing to help others, often donating her time to organizing benefits and fund-raisers. She treasured her family and valued every moment spent with them. She was also known to make the occasional trip to Thackerville, OK.

Predeceased by: mother Maria Rivera.

Survived by: husband Daniel Martinez Perez; son Jose Alvarado (Ruby Perez); daughter Nora Alvarado; daughter Jade Alvarado (Raphael Mata); daughter Atziri Martinez; son Cruz Martinez; grandson Ezequias Mata; father Jose Rivera; brother Anrique Ortiz (Angelina); sister Laura Carrizales (Jose); and sister Dora Escalante (German).

A Rosary service is scheduled for Thursday, January 22, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, January 23, beginning at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Gainesville. A committal service will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Valley View.
