JOHN GODI

John Godi, 62, of Gainesville, passed away August 29, 2022 in Denton.

John was born August 30, 1959 in Denton.  He was raised in Sanger and graduated from Sanger High School in 1978, where he was a member of the rodeo team.  He married Dee Dee Rosson on Valentine’s Day of 1987 at Bear Head Baptist Church in Sivells Bend.  John spent his career in the construction industry, eventually becoming an inspector for the City of Farmers Branch.  He loved to fish, hunt, and camp with his family, but more than anything, he treasured his time spent with his grandchildren.  John was truly a Jack-of-all-Trades and helped countless friends and family members.  He genuinely enjoyed serving others and was proud to be the first person they’d call.  John touched many lived and will be dearly missed.

John was preceded in death by: parents J.W. and Audrey Godi; sister Debra Harrison; brother Dusty Godi; brother Bryan Godi; mother-in-law Novella Rosson; and grandson Rosson Godi.

Survivors include: wife Dee Dee Godi of Gainesville; son Seth Godi and wife Tara of Gainesville; son Cole Godi and wife Brittany of Gainesville; daughter Tori Jekel and husband Nathan of Gainesville; grandchildren: Reagen, Audrey, Olivia, Kynlee, Autumn, Payton, and Liam; brother Gaddis Godi and wife Linda of Denton; sister-in-law Rebecca Godi of Krum; brother-in-law Mark Harrison and wife Suzie of Thackerville, OK; and father-in-law George Rosson of Gainesville.

A memorial service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Crossroads Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends following the service and a meal will be served at noon.

Memorial contributions may be made to ABBA.
