John Edward Massengale

Funeral services for John Edward Massengale, 76, of Forestburg, is set for 10:00 AM Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Sam Campbell officiating.  Burial will follow in the Hardy Cemetery near Forestburg.  A visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Mr. Massengale passed away at his home Sunday, March 4, 2018.  He was born June 11, 1941 in Cooke county to Tom and Emma Massengale.  He enjoyed raising cattle and farming.

John is survived by his wife Geneva Gray Massengale of Forestburg; son Johnny Massengale of Forestburg; daughter Sharon Richardson of Gainesville; daughter Karen Kelsey of Forestburg; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister Willie Mae Johnson of Bonham; sister Lorene Houchin of Bowie; brother James Massengale of Missouri.

Mr. Massengale was preceded in death by his parents; sister Mary Abernathy; sister Bessy Sanders; brother Harold Massengale; son Lonny Massengale.
