Johnnie Wayne Crisp went peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
Johnnie was born on July 17, 1951 in Hobart, OK. He graduated from Hobart high school and moved to Texas in his early 20’s. Mr. Crisp worked for Peterbilt, Safeway, Oscar Meyer, USPS, did roadwork, and spent 22 years with Bank of America before retiring.
On May 3, 2014, he married the love of his life, Julie Ann Hamby, whom he met at a minister’s retreat. It was love at first sight and they were so grateful for the marriage God blessed them with.
Mr. Crisp had many passions in life, including faith, family, and music. He loved Jesus and enthusiastically shared the gospel through preaching and song. Mr. Crisp was also known to joke around and appreciate a hot What-a-Burger.
Survived by: wife Julie Ann Crisp of Pottsboro; son Bryan Crisp (Elizabeth) of Austin; daughter Kim Miller (Chris) of Sherman; grandchildren Trevor, Bailey, and Hunter; step-sons Quinton Lee Hainline (Erin) of Satellite Beach, FL, Gregory Lee Hainline of Michigan, and Joshua Wayne Hainline of Mena, AR; seven step-grandchildren; brother Orville Gene Crisp of Billings, MT; and several beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Predeceased by: mother Dovie Lee (Ashley) Crisp; father Walter Lee “Pete” Crisp; and sister Ethel Crisp Taylor.
Services are scheduled for Monday, October 6, 2025 at Harvest Assembly of God, Sherman. The family will begin receiving friends at 9:30 a.m. and a funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. A committal service will follow at West Hill Cemetery, Sherman.
