Johnny Lee Hatten

A graveside service for Johnny Lee Hatten, 79, is scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 3, 2026 in New Resthaven Cemetery with Pastor Chet Burgess officiating.

Johnny passed away May 30, 2026 in Gainesville. He was born September 3, 1946 in Gainesville.

Most of you may remember Johnny as “Bo”. He was well known for Johnny’s Lawn mower and Small Engine Repair Shop in Gainesville which he owned and operated for many years. He also worked in the oil field as a roughneck where he later became the cook for Complete Production Services where he traveled all over the country grilling steaks and frying fish.

Johnny hardly ever missed a day of listening to “Swap It To Me” on KGAF Radio. He loved gardening and enjoyed cooking and feeding anyone and everyone. Johnny made sure his mother-in-law had breakfast every morning in her later years. He truly had the biggest heart.

Mr. Hatten is survived by his wife Glenda Hatten of 62 years; daughter and son-in-law Devone and Mark Britain; son and daughter-in-law Dearl and Kathy Hatten; grandchildren: Tambra Britain, Shane and his wife Katie Britain, Sahirah Hatten, Lisa Hatten, Bella Hatten, Joey Hatten; great-grandchildren Kolsen Morrison, Creek Britain, Gracie Britain, Briggs Watson; bonus granddaughter Tahirih Morgan; brothers Ricky Hatten, Clifford and his wife Teresa Hatten; sister Debbie Wright. He is also survived by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Faye and Johnny Crisp; brother and sister-in-law Freddie and Charlotte McAfee; brother and sister-in-law Harold and Lucretia McAfee; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father Roy Hatten; mother Lovetta Reasor; brother Billy Ray Hatten; brother-in-law Gerald “White Owl” Wright; brother-in-law George McAfee; sister-in-law Karla Hatten.
