Joyce Laverne Goodman

Joyce Laverne Goodman, 90, a longtime resident of Gainesville, TX, passed away June 4, 2025, in Oklahoma City, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Tolliver Joe Goodman; father Wilburn Crawley; mother Eunice Mae Dawkins; sister Virginia Lee Minon; daughter Debra Sue Newton; and grandsons David Brent Goodman and Justin David Harvey.

Mrs. Goodman was born September 13, 1934, in Pauls Valley, OK. There she attended school to the 12th grade. Joyce was married in 1952 to Tolliver Joe Goodman and they remained together until his death in 2012. She worked and retired from Gainesville Memorial Hospital in Gainesville, TX. She enjoyed going to garage sales with her sister-in-law, Anita and loved being around her family. She was a loving wife and mother and will surely be missed here on Earth. God gained such a special angel in heaven and we now have one of the best angels watching over all of us.

Survivors include: son David Joe Goodman and wife Anita Jo of Gainesville; son Donald Ray Goodman of Gainesville; daughter Deanna Kay Watham and husband Charles of Oklahoma City, OK; grandsons: Brent and Brian Goodman, Justin and Travis Harvey, and Jody Thorpe; great-grandsons: Michael, Dustin, Jacob, Tanner, Zachary, Braxton, and Jackson; and great-granddaughters: Kaylea, Kimberlyn, Kylanne, and Adrienne and Lola Harvey.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 12, 2025. The family will begin receiving friends at 1:00 p.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville, prior to a service beginning at 2:00 p.m. A committal service will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Gainesville.
