Laura Sue Thompson

Laura Sue (Hudson) Thompson, affectionately known as “Granny Sue”, passed away October 2, 2026 in Gainesville at the age of 77.

Laura was born July 11, 1949 in Richmond, VA. Raised as a “Navy Brat”, she got to experience different parts of the world from a very young age. She married Tommy Thompson on December 4, 1967 in Oklahoma City, OK. Mrs. Thompson received her nursing degree from North Central Texas College in Gainesville and began a long and rewarding career caring for patients in Denton. Her favorite thing to do was to watch football and her favorite holiday was Halloween. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Survived by: husband Tommy Thompson of Gainesville; son Tommy Thompson, Jr. (Tina) of Gainesville; grandchildren: Hollie, Robert, Hailea, and Jaicea; great-grandchildren: Summer, Ziva, James, John, Josiah, Camden, and Zahra; sister Debbie Tillman (David) of Farmington, NM; brother-in-law Jimmie Thompson of Lubbock; and sister-in-law Vicky White of Seminole, OK.

Predeceased by: parents Rudolph and Dorothy Hudson; and daughter Lisa Thompson.
