Leslie "Les" Don Shell

Leslie “Les” Shell, 69, of Gainesville, passed away December 31, 2022 in Gainesville.

Les was born September 9, 1953 in Gainesville.  He attended Gainesville schools and excelled in boxing, football, baseball, and track.  After school, he served two years in the U.S. Army.  Les loved Country & Western music, spending time with family, and will be remembered for his funny disposition.

Mr. Shell was preceded in death by: parents F.D. “Boady” and Nona (Bridgeman) Shell; sister Tina Silmon; sister Carol Robertson; and brother Joey Shell.

Survivors include: sister Melissa Barthold of Gainesville; and nieces and nephews Justin Barthold, Honey Ing, Cody Shell, and Chad Lee.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
