Linda McLeod

Linda Lee McLeod (née Springs), 84, of Lake Kiowa, Texas, formerly of California, passed away on September 19, 2026.

Linda was born September 24, 1941, in Paducah, Kentucky, to Samuel Clyde Springs and Dorothy Lee Tracy. She grew up in Paducah and married Joe Carter McLeod on February 4, 1960, at First Baptist Church in Riverside, California, while he was serving in the United States Air Force. They began married life at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell, New Mexico, then spent most of their years in California: Riverside, Sacramento, Fresno, Granite Bay, and Lincoln, with a short stretch in Des Moines, Iowa, before they moved to Lake Kiowa, Texas. They shared 66 years of marriage.

Linda loved caring for her family. She and Joe traveled widely around the world, and she spent several good years as a real estate agent in Sacramento and Fresno, California.

Linda is survived by her husband, Joe McLeod; her children, Dennis McLeod (Anne) and Nancy Neice; her daughter-in-law, Debbie McLeod; her niece, Teresa McCann; and her grandchildren, Mackenzie McLeod, Campbell McLeod, Garrett Neice (Leilani), Austin Neice (Nicole), Clinton Neice (Sherry), Griffin McLeod, and Eloise McLeod. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Landon, Jaxon, and Holly Neice.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Dorothy Sue Springs, who died in childhood; her sister Jane Hilborn and brother-in-law Dale Hilborn; her nephew Billy Hilborn; her son Douglas Carter McLeod; and her son-in-law Curt Neice.

A private cremation is being arranged through Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville, Texas.
