Lisa Marie McAden

Lisa Rennels McAden, 55, of Collinsville, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on August 27, 2026, after a long, courageous battle against cancer at UT Southwestern in Dallas, Texas.

She was born March 15, 1971, to Royce Rennels and Sylvia Gonzalez in Gainesville, Texas, both of whom passed within seven weeks of each other earlier this year. Throughout her life, Lisa was the primary caregiver for both of her parents and has now joined them in eternal life free of pain in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Lisa attended school in Gainesville and married her soulmate, Scott McAden, on May 19, 1990, which kicked off a worldwide adventure from Texas to North Carolina all the way to Germany as she followed her husband’s military career with babies, kids, lots of luggage, and dogs in tow. Upon returning to Texas, they settled in Collinsville to be close to lifelong friends and extended family.

Lisa never met a stranger and had a true servant’s heart. If you were blessed to be in her life, you knew she was a trusted confidant, committed to active listening, problem solving, sharing her unwavering faith, and solid wisdom she so freely gave to others (whether you wanted it or not!). Above all else we will miss her incredible sense of humor, laugh, and unconditional love.

Lisa was most proud of the family she and Scott created and celebrated together. She is survived by six children and twelve grandchildren which include Joshua (LaDon) McAden and their children Annalee, Emma, Jameson, Bailey, and Olivia; Matthew McAden; Katherine (Lamar) Ware and their children Darius, Savannah, and Layla; Joseph (Mayra) McAden and their child Amara; Laurine (Zachary Guerrero) McAden and their children Madeline, Tucker, and Izabel; and Lucas McAden. She is also survived by her brother Curtis, his wife Melanie, and their sons Trevor and Tanner.

She was most happy when her home was busy with her kids and then over the years grandkids joining her in board games, crafts and creating lifelong memories as a family. Lisa also never missed the opportunity to make custom t-shirts for special events, took sewing classes and loved attending concerts with friends.

Lisa touched many lives simply being herself and will be dearly missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. In lieu of flowers, she would want you to reach out to family or a friend you might not have spoken to in a while, tell them you love them, and then go do something together in honor of her memory.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville.  Graveside services will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2026, beginning at 9:15 a.m., at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
