In Loving Memory of Manuel Serna

February 9, 1953 – August 15, 2025

Manuel Serna, a lifelong resident of Valley View, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, at the age of 72, following a brief battle with heart failure and lung complications.

Born in Goliad, Texas, to Francisco and Angelina Serna, Manuel was one of Eleven siblings. He met the love of his life, Hilda Jean Prescher (Jeanie), in 1970, and they married on January 2, 1974. Together, they built a beautiful life, welcoming their son Mark in 1976 and daughter Michelle in 1981.

Manuel was a dedicated employee of Weber for many years before retiring. He was known for his unwavering devotion to his family, his generous spirit, and his unmistakable presence—whether behind the wheel of his beloved red truck or under the shade tree with a cold beer in hand, sharing stories and laughter.

He found joy in the simple things: fishing, mowing, tinkering with anything mechanical, and cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He was always the first to ask someone to dance, and his stubbornness was matched only by his deep love and loyalty.

• Grandchildren: Taylor Serna, Anastazia Hurt, Jazmen Hurt Kirk, Caden Hurt, Titan Turner
• Step-grandchildren: Jadie, Trinidy, Logan, and Nathan Williams, Cade Hurt, Brittany Nicholson
• Great-grandchildren: Brinlee & Brylee Petty, Hayden & Hudson Hurt
• Step great-grandchildren: Skylar & Triston Nicholson, Beau Hurt, Bowen Clark
• Siblings: Elida Padron, Lucia (Lucy) Villanueva, Delia (Dale) Parsons, Francisco (Frank) Serna Jr., Joe Serna, Augustine (Auggie) Serna
• Numerous nieces, nephews, chosen grandchildren, extended family, and cherished friends.
