Maria "Luisa" Ruiz

Maria “Luisa” (Ibarra) Ruiz, 73, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 22, 1952, in Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to Martín Ibarra Álvarez and María Concepción Calderón Juárez.

María “Luisa” (Ibarra) Ruiz, de 73 años, de Gainesville, Texas, falleció pacíficamente el 25 de febrero de 2026 en su hogar, rodeada de su familia. Nació el 22 de septiembre de 1952 en Matehuala, San Luis Potosí, México, hija de Martín Ibarra Álvarez y María Concepción Calderón Juárez.

Luisa was raised in Matehuala, where she helped her family and learned the values of hard work, faith, and dedication. Although she did not attend formal school, she carried remarkable wisdom, inner strength, and a strong sense of responsibility throughout her life.

On January 8, 1975, she married Jesús Ruiz in Cook County, Illinois. Together they built a home filled with love, faith, and unity.

Luisa worked for 13 years at Renaissance Care Center in Gainesville. She was admired for her kindness, compassion, and gentle care for the residents. She took great pride in her work and touched many lives with her patience and dedication.

Luisa lived her life with joy. She enjoyed dancing, singing, laughing, cooking for visitors, listening to music, visiting friends, and being surrounded by her family. Her warm spirit and love for life brought joy to everyone who knew her.

Luisa vivió su vida con alegría. Le gustaba bailar, cantar, reír, cocinar para sus visitas, escuchar música, visitar amigos y estar rodeada de su familia. Su espíritu cálido y su amor por la vida llenaban de felicidad a quienes la conocieron.

Luisa is survived by her husband, Jesús Ruiz; daughter, Eva Adriana Ruiz; sons, Jesús Ruiz Jr. and Cervando Ruiz; son‑in‑law, Aaron Valerio Jiménez; and daughters‑in‑law, Olga Lidia Ruiz and Rachel Ruiz. She leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 11 great‑grandchildren.

Luisa deja a su esposo, Jesús Ruiz; a su hija, Eva Adriana Ruiz; a sus hijos, Jesús Ruiz Jr. y Cervando Ruiz; a su yerno, Aaron Valerio Jiménez; y a sus nueras, Olga Lidia Ruiz y Rachel Ruiz. Le sobreviven además 16 nietos y 11 bisnietos.

She is also survived by her sisters, Leticia Molina Ibarra, María Elena Nava Ibarra, and Virginia Rodríguez Ibarra; and her brothers, Alejandro Ibarra, Cruz Ibarra, and Fernando Ibarra.

She was preceded in death by her father, Martín Ibarra; her mother, María Concepción Ibarra (Victoria); and her brother, Martín Ibarra.

Luisa reminded her family of the importance of peace and love. She always said “I love you,” and encouraged everyone to be happy, to avoid conflict, and to “let it go.” Her gentle words will continue guiding her family forever.

Luisa siempre recordaba a su familia la importancia de la paz y el amor. Siempre decía “Te quiero” y aconsejaba ser felices, evitar discusiones y “dejarlo ir”. Sus palabras llenas de ternura seguirán guiando a su familia para siempre.

Rosary and Visitation will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 1:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gainesville, with Father John Pacheco officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

El Rosario y la Visitación se llevarán a cabo en Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home el jueves 5 de marzo de 2026 a las 6:00 PM. La Misa de Funeral se celebrará el viernes 6 de marzo de 2026 a la 1:00 PM en la Iglesia Católica St. Mary’s de Gainesville, oficiada por el Padre John Pacheco. El entierro seguirá en el cementerio Fairview.

Pallbearers will be Chris Ruiz, Donovan Ruiz, Gavin Ruiz, Ethan Ruiz, Cyrus Ruiz, and Cervando Ruiz.
