Mary Jo Stubbs Camp, 87 years old, of Gainesville, TX. Passed away on July 17, 2025 at Presbyterian Hospital of Plano.
Mrs. Camp was born on April 7th 1938 in Noblesville Rural of Hamilton County Indiana. She was born to Leonidas Jesse Stubbs and Marion Elizabeth Penner.
Mary was a devoted wife to Joe Neal Camp for 44 years before his passing in 2000. She was a loving mother to her three children Larry Camp, Damon Camp, and Suzi Sims; grandmother of 13; great-grandmother of 39; great-great-grandmother of 3.
Mary grew up in Hawthorne, CA from age 3 to age 19. She was a member of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls and the High School Drill Team. She married Joe Neal Camp on June 30th, 1956 and moved to Texas. Mary worked various jobs throughout the years from stay at home mom, burger joint cook, State School assistant to her long-time career at Texas Instruments in Sherman in the Wafer Department as a Silicone Polisher for 30 years.
Mrs. Camp was an avid bowler. She was involved in bowling leagues for over 52 years. She loved getting her hair done weekly. She started going to NCTC back when it was CCC for her hair appointments and helped many cosmetologists get their certifications. After COVID she found a new place and became devoted to her new stylist.
Mary enjoyed cruising and traveling with her friends and family. She was known for her deviled eggs, oatmeal cakes, banana bread & pudding which she shared with her doctors and financial advisers and at all family gatherings. She enjoyed puzzles and games during the holidays.
Mary was a kind and loving mother to everyone. She would share joy with everybody she met. She cared deeply for people and especially children. Her smile was contagious and she will be missed by all that knew her.

Fields of Jonesboro, Tennessee, Courtney Johnson of Abilene, TX, Jeremy Sorrell of Fort Worth, TX, Taylor Sandmann of Sanger, TX, Wacey Harp of Woodbine, TX, Bryson Nance of Gainesville, TX, brothers: Les Stubbs of Goodyear, AZ, Robert and Harriett Stubbs of Des Moines, IA.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband Joe Camp, her mother Marion Stubbs and her father Leonidas Stubbs.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Tuesday July 22, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, 602 S Lindsay St. Gainesville, TX 76240.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday July 23,2025 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
