Paul Mathew Neu

Paul Mathew Neu, a resident of the Gainesville and Lindsay area, passed away on November 27, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on June 9, 1952, to Paul and Loreen (Heitzman) Neu, Paul grew up in Lindsay, Texas, and attended local schools. He was a carpenter by trade and a devout member of the Catholic faith.

Paul was also known for his volunteer work, contributing his time at St. Mary's Catholic Church and helping build the playground at Leonard Park. Paul loved spending time with family and friends, whether sharing stories, lending a helping hand, or simply enjoying their company. He also had a special bond with his dogs throughout his life, and Lucky was a loyal companion who was never far from his side.

He is survived by his son, Michael Paul Neu; his brothers, James Neu and wife, Melia, and Stephen Neu; his niece, Teresa Kelley and husband, Erik; three great-nephews, Gage, Reese, and Ryker; his aunt and uncle, Barbara and J.C. Davis; as well as several cousins, family members, and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Janice Clark; and an infant brother, Joseph Neu.

Paul's younger brother, Stevie, passed away just a few months later. The family will be remembering and celebrating the lives of both brothers at these services.

A Rosary will be held on Friday, October 2, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m., with visitation to follow at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay, Texas, with burial to follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
