Rebecca A. Benton

Rebecca “Becky” Benton, 77, of Gainesville, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025. She was born on December 23, 1947, in San Francisco, California.

Becky is survived by her son, Monty Benton; her sister, Coral Kennedy; brother-in-law, Lawrence Kennedy; nephew, Lance Kennedy; niece, Oksana Kennedy; two uncles; and many cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and numerous beloved family members. Sadly 13 days after her passing her beloved son Robby passed away and joined his mom in heaven.

A graduate of Fremont High School, Class of 1966, Becky married Danny Benton in 1971 and raised two sons, Monty and Robby, who were the pride and joy of her life. She worked for over 20 years as the receptionist at North Church before retiring in 2010.

Becky will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and strong faith. She deeply loved her family, cherished her friendships, and had a gift for bringing joy to others with her smile and laughter.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Heartland Church, 4020 Nazarene Dr., Carrollton, TX 75010.  If you wish to order a floral arrangement for the service, please contact a florist of your choosing and confirm they can deliver the arrangement directly to the memorial service.
