Ronald Marton McKnight, 84 , of Gainesville , Texas passed away August 14, 2026 at North Texas Medical Center of Gainesville, Texas surrounded by loved ones. He was born on August 19, 1941 in Hale, Texas to Thomas Marton and Agnes Lucile (Knight) McKnight.
Ronald graduated from Gainesville High School, after that he met the love of his life Fannie Morales and they married on November 24, 1966. Ronald worked in the oilfield and was also a mechanic. He was a teacher and airline mechanic in the Airforce during Vietnam and retired from Weber Aircraft. He attended Westminster Presbyterian Church of Gainesville, Texas. He enjoyed writing poetry, reading, he was a collector of many things, made jewelry from stones and loved to travel.
Ronald is survived by his son Donald and wife Carol, son Matthew, brother Larry McKnight and wife Tammy, grandson Michael, great grandsons Lucas Higgins and Logan Higgins and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Agnes McKnight, his wife Fannie (Morales) McKnight and sister Judy Aitchison.
The family will receive friends at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home of Gainesville, Texas on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Graveside services will be at Sanger Cemetery of Sanger, Texas on Saturday, August 22, 2026 beginning at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Darrell McIntyre officiating.
