Roseann Ashford Moore, 76, of Gainesville, passed away on November 3, 2026, in Gainesville with her family at her side.
She was a beloved wife, mother, and “Mimi” to several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was born in Mineral Wells on August 22, 1950, to her parents, Hollis and Mary Ashford. She was raised in Mineral Wells with her siblings Tim, Linda, and Lisa. While living in Mineral Wells, she worked alongside her father at their hardware store. She married Gerald “Jerry” Moore on June 11, 1970. Together, they had two daughters, Penni and Shannon. From the moment the girls were born, they were the center of Roseann’s world and remained so until she passed away. The family moved to Gainesville around 1980, where Roseann began her career in education. She worked in Gainesville ISD for 30+ years as a cheer coach and a co-teacher working with high need/high risk students. She left a tremendous impact on each student she worked with. Many of those students have kept in touch with her all these years later.
She is survived by her three siblings: brother Tim Ashford and wife Luz; sister Linda Van Etten and husband Ben; and sister Lisa Baird; eldest daughter Penni Edington and husband Matt and their children Dakota Nichols and wife Paola, Kenedy Almeida and husband Carlos, Trysten Edington and wife Alyssa, Tyler Edington and wife Shemiyah, and Ahnna Edington; her youngest daughter Shannon Moore and her children Kielyn Lewis and partner Marissa, and Makenna Lewis. She had several great-grandchildren, whom she loved deeply, as well: Camila, Khloe, Emersyn, Braylee, and Kam. She also leaves behind her best friend Melody Helton, who was with her through all of life’s joys and hardships. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, parents Hollis and Mary Ashford, in-laws GC and Nellie Moore and her first husband Johnny Fore.
Roseann was known to be one of the kindest and most loving people to everyone she knew, including her beloved pets. She will be incredibly missed and never forgotten.
