Rosie Calleros

August 2, 1971 — April 6, 2026

Gainesville

Rosa Calleros—known affectionately to those who loved her as Rosie or Rose—passed into the arms of her Savior on April 6, 2026, in Denison. While our hearts feel the weight of her absence, we find peace knowing she has been reunited with her beloved mother Erlinda Morales; her brother Antonio Aguilar; and her grandmothers Rosa Landeros and Maria Morales.

Born on August 2, 1971, in Gainesville, Rosie spent her life cultivating beauty in everything she touched. She was a woman of deep, unwavering faith, a living tribute to the grace of God. She didn’t just talk about her love for Jesus; she wore it as a mantle, sharing the Word with family, friends, and even strangers. She was the first to offer a helping hand and the last to pass judgment, showing the world what it meant to lead a life of service and kindness.

Rosie’s home was a place of warmth, often filled with the comforting aroma of her famous homemade breads. Whether she was tending to her garden—where she had a gifted green thumb and a natural way of nurturing life out of the earth—or dancing with abandon to her favorite 80's hits, Rosie lived with a joyful energy that was contagious. On any given Friday night, you could find her playing bingo with her aunts, uncles, and cousins, simply enjoying the game and the laughter of the family she loved so much.

Above all else, Rosie’s heart belonged to her family. She was the devoted wife of Jesus Calleros and a fierce, loving mother and grandmother. Her grandchildren were her world, and she poured her soul into ensuring they knew they were cherished.

Rosie’s legacy is held dear by her husband Jesus Calleros; her father Ruben Aguilar and step-mother Ellen; and her children: Monica Rios, Abdon Rios, Sonya Gaspar, Alex Garza and son-in-law Roberto Garza, and Natalie Calleros. She is also survived by her sisters Minerva Aguilar, Belinda Rios, and Ana Aguilar; her eight precious grandchildren: Richie, Kirk, Hazel, Yanna, Kayliana, Moses, Ka’Leal, and baby Jamari. She also leaves behind numerous loved aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and a community of friends who were like family to her.

Rosie’s presence was a light that made the world a bit brighter, and while she has danced her way into heaven, the impact of her love remains rooted in the lives of everyone she knew.

To Honor Rosie's vibrant spirit, the family requests that guests wear colorful attire to the service. Please feel free to incorporate her favorite signatures: floral patterns, leopard prints, and beautiful shades of pink and red.

Visitation will be held at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home on Thursday, April 16th, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The Celebration of Life will be at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home on Friday, April 17th, at 10:00 AM, followed by burial at New Resthaven Memorial Cemetery.
