Ross E. Blue, Jr.

Ross Edward Blue, Jr., 76, of Valley View, TX, passed away January 21, 2026, in Plano, TX.

Ross was born May 13, 1949 in New Brunswick, NJ. He grew up in Milltown, NJ and graduated from Saint Joseph High School in Metuchen, NJ. Following graduation, Ross enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served from 1969 to 1972. Once honorably discharged, Ross began working at a 7-11 convenience store. As a result of his work ethic and determination, which remained instilled in him throughout his life, Ross continued moving up the ladder, journeying from a store clerk to a corporate executive with Southland Corporation. His true passion was farming and ranching, which he began in 1989. He lived several places, including New York and Connecticut, eventually settling in Texas. In the North Texas area, he was able to care for his horses and other animals, as well as frequent his favorite casinos in Southern Oklahoma. The friends he made from his casino trips were very special to Ross. Not only could you count on Ross for hard work and a helping hand, but you could also be sure he would be wearing a pair of jeans, a baseball cap, and top siders. He will be missed.

Survived by: son Kevin Lawrence of Gordonville, TN; step-son Larry Auth (Misti) of Aledo, TX; step-daughter Tori Auth of Meridian, ID; sister Jane S. Blue (Louisa Watrel) of Rehoboth Beach, DE; sister Jill B. Chadwick of Hopkinton, NH; brother Gery T. Blue of Warner, NH; and four grandchildren.

Predeceased by: wife Nancy Dalton; parents Ross E. Blue, Sr. and Sara (McCloskey) Blue; sister Gail Fruhbeis; and brother-in-law Fredy Fruhbeis.

Memorial contributions may be made to Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter, Gainesville, TX. Private services will be held at a later date.
