Royce Dean Rennels, 82, of Gainesville, Texas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March 28, 2026. He was born on January 25, 1944 to Ollen Glen and Oneta May (Welch) Rennels in Muenster, Texas and was the oldest of two brothers.
Royce served in the U.S. Army from July 1965-July 1967. While in the service he attained the rank of SP4 and was awarded the Soldiers Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Sharpshooter Rifle. After his service, he was a butcher for a short time before he became an OTR driver and when Peterbilt opened, he decided to work there for 25 years before retiring.
Royce enjoyed his motorcycle and took many road trips. He was a beloved father, grandfather, son and brother.
Royce leaves behind his cherished family, a son Curtis (Melanie) Rennels, their two sons Tanner and Trevor of Lantana, Texas; a daughter Lisa (Scott) McAden of Collinsville, Texas, their children, Joshua (LaDon) McAden, Matthew McAden, Katherine (Lamar) Ware, Joseph (Mayra) McAden, Laurine (Zachary Guerrero) McAden, and Lucas McAden; two brothers, Paul (Marcie) Rennels of Muenster, Texas and Roy Rennels of Myra, Texas. Royce enjoyed seeing his 10 great grandchildren with 2 more expected this year. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Royce will be honored for his military service. Graveside services will be held April 7th, 2026 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
