Ruby Dean Stewart

Funeral services for Ruby Stewart, 64, of Gainesville, are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 21, 2021, at Real Life Church with Pastor Bryan Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at Reed Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 20, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stewart passed away May 16, 2021 in Gainesville.

Ruby was born October 20, 1956 in Memphis, TX to Earl and Dean (Pierce) Thomas.  She had treasured memories of childhood summers at the family farm and cooking out with her family.  Her passions included Dallas Cowboys Football, Professional Bull Riding, and fishing and camping, particularly at Hellman’s Lake and Lake Nocona.  She was a volunteer fire fighter and EMT and a member of Real Life Church.

Survivors include: daughter, Schelley Harrison and husband, Jason, of Gainesville; daughter, Lindy Hacker and husband, Chris, of Myra; son, James Stewart of Gainesville; grandchildren: Harli, Emily, and Karissa; brother, Don Thomas and wife, Veda, of Saint Jo; sister, Jenette Van Meter of Nocona; sister, Mary Stewart and husband, Terry, of Saint Jo; sister-in-law, Sharon Muller and husband, Steve, of Myra; brother-in-law, Larry Stewart and wife, Kerrie, of Lindsay; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by: husband, Dennis Stewart; and parents, Earl and Dean Thomas.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Home Hospice of Cooke County.
