Stephen (Stevie) Mark Neu

Stephen (Stevie) Mark Neu, a resident of the Gainesville and Lindsay area, passed away on August 5, 2026, at the age of 67.

Stevie was born on January 10, 1959, to Paul and Loreen (Heitzman) Neu. He grew up in Lindsay, Texas, and attended local schools, where he was active in high school football. He was employed by Peterbilt until his retirement, but he never retired from farming—it was his life and passion.

Stevie enjoyed spending time with his family and could often be found playing pool with his friends. He treasured the friendships he made throughout his life and will be remembered for his hardworking nature, loyalty, and love of those closest to him.

He is survived by his brother, James Neu and wife, Melia; his niece, Teresa Kelley and husband, Erik; three great-nephews, Gage, Reese, and Ryker; his nephew, Michael Neu; his aunt and uncle, Barbara and J.C. Davis; as well as several cousins, family members, and friends.

Stevie was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Janice Clark; his brother, Paul Mathew Neu; and an infant brother, Joseph Neu.

The family will be remembering both Stevie and his brother, Paul Mathew, together.

A Rosary will be held on Friday, October 2, at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home at 6:00 p.m., with visitation to follow at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Lindsay, Texas, with burial to follow at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery.
