With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Tammy L. McAfee Lively-Lingle, who departed this life on July 31, 2026, at the age of 51.
Born on July 18, 1975, in Denison, Texas, Tammy entered the world as someone who, like so many, carried both beauty and burdens. Life shaped her in ways few could fully understand, yet she continued forward with the strength she possessed. She loved in the ways she knew how, giving what she could from a heart that had endured both life's hardships and health challenges.
She was a wife, a mother, a daughter, a family member, and a friend whose life left a lasting mark on those who knew her. She had a way of making herself known, whether through her laughter, her determination, or the things she did for the one's she loved.
Tammy is survived by her wife, Janie; her mother, Paula; her brother, Bryan; her son, Nathan; her daughter, Brittany, and son-in-law, Joshua; her daughters, Quincey and Jayci; her nephew, Marcus; her cousin, Ashley; and her eight grandchildren, Kaydence, Kasen, Leeila, Cecilia, Amelia, Lillian, Lucian, and Emberly, as well as numerous family members and friends who will carry her memory with them always.
She was preceded in death by her father, Martin McAfee; her stepfather, Bobby Ritchie; and her brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Lorilee McAfee.
No life is defined by perfection. Every life is a collection of joys, struggles, triumphs, and experiences. Hers was no different. Those closest to her knew her resilience, her determination, and the quiet but powerful ways she expressed care, even when words were difficult to find.
In her final moments, she was not alone. She was surrounded by love from family, with her hand held by someone who had never stopped hoping that love could heal what life had left unfinished. Though many things remained unspoken, love remained present until her final breath.
Her passing reminds us that every generation carries stories inherited from the one before it. She faced battles that began long before she became a mother and a wife, and while those burdens shaped her life, they never erased her humanity. She did the best she could with what life had given her, and for that, she is remembered with compassion.
Her memory will live on not because she was without flaws, but because she mattered. She leaves behind lessons of resilience, forgiveness, and the hope that understanding can exist alongside grief. Those who loved her will remember not only the life she lived, but also the enduring reminder that love is often imperfect, yet still deeply real.
A celebration of life service is tentatively scheduled for August 23, 2026 with more information to come. Tammy's Facebook page will be updated with the complete details soon. We invite family and friends to gather, share memories, and celebrate her life. May she rest in eternal peace, and may those who loved her find comfort in the memories they carry and the love that remains.
