Thomas (Tommy) Raymond Leeper Jr. 71, of Gainesville passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7th, 2025, in Gainesville, Texas. Tommy was born in Gainesville on August 19th, 1953, to Tom Leeper Sr. and Juanita Leeper. He was a 1971 graduate of Gainesville High School.
An avid craftsman, Tommy opened Leeper Custom Cabinets in Gainesville in 1976. In 1992, he opened Celina Custom Cabinets in Celina, TX. Tommy was a small business owner and built and installed custom cabinets throughout the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex for over 40 years. He loved helping builders and homeowners by making their ideas a reality in their homes. When not in the shop, Tommy enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, working in the yard if it wasn’t too hot, staying frustrated at the Dallas Cowboys, and spending time with his friends and family. He was especially proud of his title as PawPaw to his three granddaughters.
Tommy is survived by his son and daughter in-law, Jake and Lindsey Leeper of Prosper, TX, daughter, Erin Leeper of Frisco TX, and granddaughters Hadley, Addie, and Mary Blair Leeper. He is also survived by Julie Mayberry of Frisco, TX and Holli Tate of McKinney, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Patrick Leeper, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20th, at 1:00pm, followed by a brief memorial service at 2:00pm at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to The Medal of Honor Host City Program in Gainesville, TX. One of Tommy’s favorite events is the annual Medal of Honor Parade and the opportunity to thank those who’ve sacrificed and served our country.
