Tim Whitton

June 19, 1960 — December 1, 2025

Valley View, Texas

Timothy Glen Whitton, 65, of Valley View, passed away December 1, 2025, in Valley View, Texas. Tim was born June 19, 1960, in Houston, TX, and attended R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton. He married Debbie Tutt on February 12, 1979, in Carrollton.

He worked at Anchor Crane and Hoist in Irving for several years and then went on to start his own business. Tim was a successful entrepreneur. He built a metal fabrication business from the ground up and poured himself into it. His shop wasn’t just a place of work; it was the physical expression of his determination, craftsmanship, and pride. Tim’s proven skill set and ambitious attitude led him to take on a wide variety of projects, ranging from small creations to help his family to shaping cityscapes across the metroplex. For over 20 years, he built overhead cranes for Global Crane. He also worked on fleet equipment for cities including Denton, Plano, Farmers Branch, and Lake Dallas, to name a few. From big cities to small towns, he shaped the metal that formed our communities.

A man of few words, but with a calm, reassuring nod that would say more than a long conversation ever could. His sharp wit, paired with a playful, dry sense of humor, brought laughter to every room and made him a friend to all.

Survivors include: wife, Debbie Whitton of Valley View; daughter, Jessica Palmer (Chris) of Highland Village; son, Jared Whitton (Sarah) of Rowlett; son, Joshua Whitton of Celina; grandchildren, Luke and Ella Palmer, and Colton and Paislee Whitton; and sister, Debbie Crawford (Ted) of Lewisville.

Preceded in death by parents, Jesse and Shirley (McDonald) Whitton, and brothers, Roger Whitton and David Whitton.

A memorial service is scheduled for Friday, December 12, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home in Gainesville. The family will receive friends following the service.
