Wesley George Hubik, age 88, of Mesquite, TX, passed away July 29, 2026, peacefully at his home.

Wesley was born September 29, 1937 in Cottonwood, TX. He was raised in West, TX where he spoke Czech until he started school. He graduated from West High School and helped on his family farm. Following school, Mr. Hubik served two years in the U.S. Army, including time in Germany at age 19 as part of the 10th Infantry Division.

Mr. Hubik married Patricia Schmitz, his wife of more than 60 years, in Dallas on September 11, 1965. Around this time, he began his successful career in manufacturing with Continental Electronics, spanning more than 50 years.

Mr. Hubik was proud of his Czech heritage and was very involved with various organizations, including KJT and SPJST. He had a great love for Czech music, Czech food, Czech people and pivo. He was known for his unique sense of humor and was a joy to be around at dances and festivals. Wesley worked hard and preferred to do things the hard way. He will be remembered for his humble and unselfish ways and his love for his three children and ten grandchildren.

Predeceased by: parents George and Annie (Grellhesl) Hubik; and twin sister Lillian Bohannan.

Survived by: wife Patricia Hubik of Mesquite, TX; son Michael Hubik (Mary Beth) of Austin, TX; son Joe Hubik (Pam) of Bluffton, SC; daughter Cheryl Adame of Murphy, TX; grandchildren Evan, Avery, and Emmy Adame; Carly, Kayla, Brooke, and Blake Hubik; and John Michael, Noah and Aaron Hubik; brothers Robert Hubik (Kris), Tom Hubik (Becky), and George Kubik (Kelly); and sisters Margie Schutza and Janie Rejcek.

Services: On Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Dallas, TX, there is a scheduled viewing from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m., a Rosary service to begin at 10:00 a.m., and a Funeral Mass to begin at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive friends following the service from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. A committal service for immediate family is scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Peter’s Cemetery, in Lindsay, TX, the hometown of his wife Patricia. Arrangements have been entrusted to Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home, Gainesville, TX.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church in Dallas, TX.
