Winston Fangman January 14, 2026 Winston Edd Fangman, 86 of Lindsay, passed away January 14, 2026, in Denton, Texas. Winston was born July 14, 1939, to Fred and Mary Aline Jenkins Fangman in Denton County and attended school in Pilot Point, Texas.
Winston married RoseMary Hess on August 5, 1961, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay, Texas. Together, they raised six children on the family farm north of Lindsay. Winston worked as a carpenter for many years and later worked for Strittmatter Irrigation and Energy Service Company in water well servicing. He also spent many years farming and doing custom harvesting with Julius and Henry Hess. He retired in 2005. Recently, he has spent most of his time raising cattle. In his younger days, he enjoyed doing all things that involved being outside. He spent a lot of time fishing, cutting wood, gardening, as well as all the things it takes living on a farm.
Winston is survived by his wife of 65 years, RoseMary, daughter Sharon Hoenig and husband Bill, daughter Bridget Anderle, daughter Anita Fangman, son Frank Fangman and wife Rhonda, son John Fangman and wife Theresa, and daughter Debbie Fleitman and husband Chad. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as brother and sister in law Paul and Lillian Hess, brother in law David Huchton, and sister in law Clara Hellinger. Winston was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Aline Fangman, brother Walter and sister in law Connie Fangman, sister Joella and brother in law Louis David, brother Felix and sister in law Roxann Fangman, father and mother in law, Henry and Rose Hess, brother and sister in law Julius and Elsie Hess, brother in law Lambert Hess, brother and sister in law Henry and Nell Hess, brother and sister in law Gus and Nellie Berend, sister in law Margie Huchton, brother in law James Hellinger, as well as grandson, Clayton Fangman and son in law, Jay Anderle.
Grandsons and nephews will serve as Pallbearers.
A rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at George J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home with visitation to follow. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lindsay, Texas with Fr. John Martin officiating. Burial will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery under the direction of Geo. J. Carroll & Son Funeral Home.
