Vickie Lynn Daughtry

Vickie Lynn Daughtry, 70, of Gainesville, gained her wings on Saturday, December 25, 2021, in Nocona Texas.

Vickie was born in Gainesville, TX on March 27, 1951, the sixth of twelve children of Melvin and Ruth (Pearson) Kuhnly. She married the love of her life, Ronnie Daughtry, in July 1971 who preceded her in death in 2018.  She loved to keep the family up to date on all birthdays with warm wishes and was an avid reader and fond of crossword puzzles.  Vickie's favorite role in life was being Granny to her grand and great grandchildren as they were her shining light.

Vickie is survived by: daughter Shauna Najera and husband Bo of Gainesville; son Jonathan Daughtry and wife Christy of Nocona; daughter Melissa Daughtry of Gainesville; son Justin Daughtry and wife Crystal of Gainesville; 7 beloved grandchildren, Payton Joslin, Taylor Rich, Jason and Chloe Daughtry, Avery and Libby Smiley; two beloved great- grandchildren Delilah Joslin and Maggie Rich; sister Edith Kahle of Virginia; sister Irene Kuhnly of Gainesville;  brother Melvin Kuhnly and wife Barbara of Illinois; brother Gary Kuhnly and wife Donna of Dexter; sister Patsy Daughtry and husband Randy of Gainesville; sister Charlotte Jones and husband Danny of Valley View; sister Katherine Kuhnly of Gainesville; Terrie Bozeman and husband Roy of Oklahoma; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Daughtry was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, son Jason; and three sisters Ilene Kuhnly, Rebecca Kuhnly, and Sharon Sistrunk.

The memorial service is scheduled for 3pm, Thursday, December 31, 2021 at Geo J. Carroll & Son, with Rev. Daniel Jones officiating.
